Bramasta Putra Redyantanu, a doctoral student in the Architecture Doctoral Program at FTUI, has explored the reconciliation of actual-virtual connections in spatial architecture practice. This research is presented in his dissertation titled “Reconciliation of Actual-Virtual in Multispatial Architecture Practice.” Dr. Bramasta’s doctoral promotion was held on May 22, 2024.
Dr. Bramasta stated, “The findings of this research reveal important ideas related to the portal as access and connector for multispatial areas that can be achieved through rational operations. There are three aspects constructed through these research findings as the portal concept: the collaborative reflection attribute, multi-application path operations, and speculative spatial projection in operating multispatial ideas in architectural design.”
“The results of this research include an expanded understanding and knowledge of actual-virtual as a relationship that coexists; an expansion of design operation strategies through various actual-virtual reconciliation operations; the method’s ability to identify directly visible (actual) aspects and illustrate indirect possibilities (virtual) born from them; and the use of prompts in deconstruction, construction, and deconstruction of programming in architectural design,” continued Dr. Bramasta.
“I congratulate Dr. Bramasta on completing his doctoral studies. I hope that his dissertation will inspire and broaden the public’s knowledge, especially in the field of architecture,” said Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, Dean of FTUI.
With his dissertation, Dr. Bramasta achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 4.00 and earned the summa cum laude distinction. Additionally, Dr. Bramasta became the 22nd doctoral graduate in the Architecture program and the 545th doctoral graduate at FTUI.
Dr. Bramasta’s doctoral promotion was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc. with promoter Prof. Yandi Andri Yatmo, S.T., M.Arch., Ph.D., and co-promoter Prof. Paramita Atmodiwirjo, S.T., M.Arch., Ph.D., along with examiners Aswin Indraprastha, S.T., M.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; Dr. Ir. Achmad Hery Fuad, M.Eng.; Kristanti Dewi Paramita, S.Ars., M.A., Ph.D.; Dr. Rini Suyantini, S.T., M.Sc.; and Dr. Ferro Yudistira, S.T., M.Ars.
