The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), has signed a collaboration agreement between the Community Service Unit (UPPM) of the Department of Chemical Engineering (DTK) FTUI and the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Division of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Regional 3 Zone 9. This ceremony took place on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Smart Room of DTK FTUI, Depok. The signing was conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, and Budiman Sarwidi, Manager of HSSE Operations Zone 9, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia.
In his remarks, Prof. Heri Hermansyah emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy between educational institutions and industry. “This partnership is a strategic step to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. Through this collaboration, FTUI hopes to create innovative solutions that have a positive impact on the energy industry and resource efficiency in Indonesia. This collaboration is also expected to enhance the quality of research and community service at FTUI.”
The collaboration encompasses three aspects: Life Cycle Assessment Studies at PT. Pertamina EP Tanjung Field, Sangasanga Field, and Sangatta Field (TSS); Life Cycle Assessment at Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga; and Support Services for HSSE Operations Programs at Pertamina EP Head Office Zone 9. It is hoped that through this collaboration, innovations will be created to improve operational efficiency and sustainability in the energy industry and resource efficiency.
“This cooperation aligns with our vision to enhance safety and sustainability in our operations. With support from FTUI, we are confident that we can achieve higher standards in HSSE operations and make a more significant contribution to the national energy industry,” said Budiman.
The Community Service Unit (UPPM) of DTK FTUI was established to support the realization of the vision and mission of the Department of Chemical Engineering FTUI. In its function, UPPM DTK FTUI provides laboratory and technical services, chemical engineering consultations, and training for the industrial community, government agencies, and other institutions/communities. With the signing of this cooperation agreement, FTUI through UPPM DTK FTUI and PT Pertamina are committed to strengthening collaboration in developing research and technology beneficial to the community and industry, supporting efforts towards national energy sustainability and security.
The Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement was also attended by Ahmad Zuhal Fachri (Assistant Manager Environmental Zone 9); Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto (Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni); Dr. Bambang Heru Susanto, ST., MT (Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering); Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR (Manager of Public Communication and General Administration); Khusnul Khatimah, S.K.M., M.M. (Project Manager of UPPM DTK FTUI), and several other representatives from UPPM DTK FTUI.
