FTUI’s Modernization, Planning, and Supervision Unit Holds First Monitoring Meeting for MOOCs Development

FTUI is currently developing non-credit courses based on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) as an innovation in online learning. Nine selected FTUI lecturers are actively involved in this development. Non-credit MOOCs are designed as an open platform for anyone interested in gaining deeper knowledge in the field of engineering. Participants who complete all learning modules will receive a certificate as proof of active participation.

The Modernization, Planning, and Supervision Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (Modirpen FTUI), held the first monitoring and evaluation (Monev) session for the Digital Learning Innovation Development of MOOCs through the MOOCs UI Learning Management System (LMS) in the Senate Room, FTUI Dean’s Office, on Monday (30/09).

“Through this meeting, let’s evaluate how far each lecturer (MOOC developer) has progressed in designing learning materials and developing interactive learning videos. It is expected that by this first Monev session, the lecturers have completed at least one week of interactive learning videos on the MOOCs UI LMS,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of the Modernization, Planning, and Supervision Unit. It continued with presentations from each Monev participant, followed by a discussion and review session for each presenter.

The nine FTUI lecturers who received funding for the development of non-credit MOOCs are as follows:
1. Aulia Qisthi, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. from the Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Program
2. Dr. Ir. Tomy Abuzairi, ST, MSc, MT, PhD from the Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Program
3. Muhammad Firdaus Syawaludin Lubis, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from the Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program
4. Prof. Ir. Rinaldy Dalimi, M.Sc., Ph.D. from the Energy Systems Engineering Graduate Program
5. Faiz Husnayain, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Program
6. Dr. Inaki Maulida Hakim, S.T., M.T. from the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program
7. Dr. Ferro Yudistira, S.T., M.Ars. from the Architecture Undergraduate Program
8. Prof. Dr. Ir. Yusuf Latief, M.T. from the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program
9. Mohammad Ikhsan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from the Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program

Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, Dean of FTUI, stated, “FTUI is committed to continuously adopting the latest innovations in education, and the development of non-credit MOOCs is a tangible proof of this commitment. Through this program, we aim to provide broader access to high-quality education, allowing not only students but also the public to access up-to-date knowledge and skills. This initiative not only strengthens our digital learning ecosystem but also supports lifelong learning, building a culture of sustainable education beyond traditional classroom boundaries.”
