FTUI and BMKG Hold Monitoring and Evaluation Meeting on Educational Collaboration Achievements

On Monday (11/11), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), together with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) meeting to review the achievements of their educational collaboration in the Senate Room, FTUI Dean’s Building.

This meeting aimed to assess the progress of academic activities and the academic achievements of BMKG employees enrolled in the Master’s and Doctoral programs within the Department of Electrical Engineering at FTUI. Previously, FTUI and BMKG had signed a Cooperation Agreement for this program to enhance the competency and capacity of BMKG’s human resources.

Currently, eight BMKG employees are participating in the educational collaboration program, comprising one Master’s student and seven Doctoral students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts. These students are being prepared to become high-quality graduates, contributing to human resource development, organizational performance, and the advancement of science and technology in meteorology, climatology, and geophysics.

Nina Amelia Sasmita, Head of the BMKG Education Team, stated, “We hope to gain insights into the student’s learning progress, particularly the Doctoral students pursuing a Double Degree at Chiba University. Furthermore, in the upcoming academic year, we plan to enrol three additional BMKG employees at FTUI.”

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng., one of the academic advisors, provided feedback on the learning progress of BMKG’s students. He emphasized the importance of focus in research, noting that a student’s academic progress depends greatly on their dedication and commitment to their studies.

“Nearly all Doctoral students face challenges at the beginning of their studies, especially when starting or adapting to conducting in-depth research to uncover novelty. This includes Mr. Andri. Transitioning from Master’s to Doctoral research requires a leap in understanding, making initial difficulties a normal part of the process,” explained Prof. Ramli.

The meeting was attended by FTUI representatives, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc. (Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs), Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto (Manager of Partnerships, Ventures, and Alumni), Dr. Eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T. (Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering), and the postgraduate academic advisory team comprising Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng., Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, M.M., M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Dodi Sudiana, M.Eng., Prof. Dr.Eng. Drs. Benyamin Kusumo Putro, M.Eng., and Prof. Ir. Purnomo Sidi Priambodo, M.Sc., Ph.D.

From BMKG, attendees included Adityawarman, S.Si., MM. (Acting Head of the BMKG Human Resource Development Center), Nina Amelia Sasmita (Head of the BMKG Education Team), Septian Bagus Wibisono (Member of the BMKG Education Team), and BMKG staff members who are students at FTUI.
