Rector of Universitas Indonesia Ensures No Student Will Face Financial Barriers to Education

The Rector of Universitas of Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., guarantees that every student admitted to UI, especially in the regular program, will not face obstacles in pursuing their education due to financial issues. He stated that the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) determination for the Undergraduate Regular Program and Vocational Education Program is adjusted according to the student’s parents’ or guardians’ socioeconomic background data.

“For students in the regular program, we must ensure that their UKT is fair and aligned with their financial capacity, said Prof. Heri after being officially inaugurated as the Rector of UI for the 2024-2029 period at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Campus, Depok, on Wednesday (December 4).

He added that UI has developed various mechanisms to address this issue. UI has implemented a policy for the fair determination of the UKT amount based on data and an evaluation of the payer’s financial capacity. To achieve this, UI has divided the UKT into 11 categories, ranging from the lowest fee of IDR 500,000 to the highest of IDR 20,000,000.

Furthermore, Prof. Heri stated that in addition to ensuring a fair UKT, UI will also seek scholarships for students in need to help them survive throughout their education at UI. If there is any student in the regular program who is struggling financially, please inform us immediately. In case anyone is overlooked, said Prof. Heri.

The website, ukt.ui.ac.id provides information regarding the UKT rates for Undergraduate and Vocational Education Program students of the 2024 cohort, whether admitted through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), or the Independent Selection Pathways (PPKB, Achievement Pathway, SIMAK).
