The Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, officiated the inauguration. The ceremony was attended by FTUI leaders, Dr. Erly Bahsan, representatives of FTUI Alumni Class of ’94, Ghofar Razaq Nazila, Vice Chairman of DPD REI DKI Jakarta, and the family of the late Reisyah Agam Kamil.
In his speech, Prof. Heri Hermansyah remarked, “These facilities are a tangible representation of our commitment to continually innovate and create facilities that advance higher education in Indonesia. The Reisyah Agam Kamil Student Commons symbolizes dedication to supporting creativity, collaboration, and the learning spirit of our students. Meanwhile, the renovation of the K301 FTUI’94 Legacy Auditorium and the Smart Classroom DPD REI DKI Jakarta represents our vision for a smart campus—interactive, modern, and technology-based learning spaces made possible by collaboration with alumni and DPD REI DKI Jakarta.”
Prof. Yanuar, the vice dean for education, research, and student affairs, emphasized that FTUI’s development of the Smart Auditorium K301 and Smart Classroom S101 is a strategic move to support technology-driven, inclusive learning processes. With these facilities, we hope FTUI can set an example in leveraging technology for education in Indonesia. We are committed to creating learning spaces that foster collaboration, interaction, and adaptability to modern advancements,” said Prof. Yanuar.
Ghofar Razaq Nazila underscored the importance of synergy between academia and industry in advancing educational infrastructure. “We hope these facilities will not only become a source of pride for FTUI but also inspire other educational institutions. We hope that FTUI students who utilize the DPD REI DKI Jakarta Smart Classroom will be further motivated to achieve excellence nationally and internationally.”
This auditorium was renovated a decade ago as part of a broader transformation. In 2022, its audio and video systems were upgraded. The latest renovations include modernized interiors and installing advanced integrated systems connecting air conditioning, audio, and video equipment. The auditorium is now suitable for lectures, seminars, and other large-capacity events.
This classroom, equipped with advanced technology to support collaboration between students and faculty, creates a more effective, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment. It reflects FTUI’s commitment to dynamic and innovative teaching practices.
This multifunctional modern space features smart TVs, discussion rooms, high-speed internet connectivity, and flexible work areas. It is dedicated to the memory of the late Reisyah Agam Kamil, an FTUI alumnus renowned for her dedication and contributions to engineering and construction management.
Reisyah Agam Kamil, a 2010 Civil Engineering FTUI graduate, graduated in 2014 as a Top 10% Graduate. In addition to her academic achievements, she actively participated in various initiatives, such as serving as the Logistics Division Head at CENS UI, contributing to Indonesia Mengglobal, and acting as Head of Admissions at Garuda Bisa. Tragically, Reisyah passed away in December 2021.
Reisyah’s father, Mr. Iskandar Muda Kamil, shared, “Reisyah Agam Kamil was a role model for all of us. The Reisyah Agam Kamil Student Commons was built to honour her spirit during her time at FTUI. We hope this space serves as a physical venue for creativity and stands as a symbol of the spirit of innovation and contribution Reisyah exemplified throughout her life.”
