FTUI is highly open to partnerships in double-degree programs, student exchanges, and joint research involving our students and faculty members.”
Naval Group is a public limited company specialising in research and development (R&D) for surface ships, submarines, maritime weaponry systems, and drones. It has an office in Indonesia and is active in international academic collaborations, including student and Ph.D. exchanges.
During the visit, Naval Group proposed specific research collaborations involving FTUI students. These opportunities, which include research on submarines and maritime systems development, are expected to strengthen student involvement in strategic projects.
Institut Polytechnique de Paris, ranked 46th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, brought a range of academic collaboration opportunities. The institution offers tailor-made programs for student mobility and has partnerships with universities worldwide, including in Latin America, China, and Singapore.
FTUI and Institut Polytechnique de Paris discussed potential double-degree programs with 3+2 or 4+2 schemes, student exchange, and internship opportunities. One key requirement for participation is a minimum French language proficiency of B1.
FTUI has a history of collaboration with French institutions through the Indonesia-France Double Degree Program (DDIP), which ran from 2009 to 2014. This visit marks an opportunity to rebuild more substantial and relevant collaborations for the future.
Follow-up initiatives from this visit include collaborations with Institut Polytechnique de Paris on developing student exchange and internship programs and preparing a list of available English-taught courses. FTUI and Naval Group will also propose research topics involving FTUI students in joint projects within the maritime and defence sectors.
This visit represents a strategic step for FTUI in expanding its international network and strengthening its contribution to global education and research.
