FTUI and PT PLN Hold Monitoring and Evaluation Meeting on Educational Partnership Achievements

On Tuesday (25/2), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) and PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero) held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) meeting to review the achievements of their educational partnership at the Smart Meeting Room Makara 04, FTUI Dean’s Building. Representatives from FTUI and PLN attended the event.

This activity aimed to monitor the academic progress of PLN employees pursuing their studies in several postgraduate programs at FTUI. In addition, the evaluation served as a platform to identify challenges encountered and formulate solutions to ensure the optimal implementation of this educational partnership program.

The Collaborative Class between PT PLN and FTUI currently involves 119 PLN employees enrolled in several Master’s programs, including Energy Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.

The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated, “FTUI welcomes and highly appreciates PT PLN’s initiative and commitment to supporting human resource development through this postgraduate education program. The collaboration established so far is a tangible example of synergy between academia and industry, which is crucial for advancing higher education tailored to industry needs.”

In his remarks, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Partnership, Venture, and Entrepreneurship, said, “Today’s monitoring and evaluation session serves as a strategic forum to identify achievements, challenges, and solutions that we can jointly design to ensure the smooth progress of PLN students’ studies.”

Following the opening remarks, the Heads of Departments from each Master’s program presented the monitoring and evaluation results regarding the students’ achievements and areas that require further attention. Subsequently, PT PLN representatives also shared their own monitoring and evaluation reports.

The evaluation and progress reports on PLN students’ learning activities concluded that several key aspects need further attention and improvement. In particular, the fourth semester is considered a critical period in determining students’ graduation. Therefore, intensive discussions between students and their academic supervisors must be continuously strengthened.

FTUI also recommended that preparations for seminars and thesis defences be initiated earlier to minimize obstacles towards the end of the study period. Strong collaboration between PLN, FTUI, and the students is expected to continue, ensuring the development of competent, innovative graduates capable of addressing future challenges in the energy industry.
