FTUI Team Holds Roadshow in Bali to Promote International Special Class Program

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), conducted a roadshow to several international-standard schools in Bali. The roadshow took place on Thursday and Friday (April 10–11), represented by Abdul Hady from the Public Communication and General Administration Unit, and Zafira Rahmatul Umma from the Partnership and International Education Unit. This visit was carried out in response to invitations from the respective schools seeking information about the International Special Class Program (Kelas Khusus Internasional or KKI) at FTUI. The schools visited included CHIS Senior High School Denpasar, Tunas Daud School Bali, and Taman Rama Intercultural School Bali.

At CHIS Senior High School Denpasar, Hady and Zafira took turns presenting about FTUI in two different classes. The information was delivered to 10th and 11th-grade students to give them an early overview of university life, available study programs, and the application process for when they reach 12th grade.

At Tunas Daud School Bali, the socialization session was held in the auditorium. The students listened attentively to the presentation by the FTUI team and actively asked various questions about FTUI, ensuring they received clear and up-to-date information.

During the final visit, the FTUI team met with the University Guidance Counsellor at Taman Rama Intercultural School Bali. Zafira gave a comprehensive explanation of FTUI to the counselor so that the information could be passed on to students interested in applying. The counsellor expressed appreciation for FTUI’s visit, as it marked the first time a state university (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, PTN) had visited Taman Rama Intercultural School Bali. On this occasion, the FTUI team also met with one of the students who had been accepted into the Industrial Engineering KKI Program through the Talent Scouting scheme. The student enthusiastically asked about what campus life would be like.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., also shared his thoughts on the event:

“This outreach is aimed at ensuring that FTUI, especially the International Special Class Program, is recognized not only in the Greater Jakarta area but also in other major cities across Indonesia. The targeted schools are international-standard institutions to attract both Indonesian and international students who wish to experience studying both domestically and abroad.”
