Doctoral Program Public Lecture FTUI: The Utilization of AI for Higher Education

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), held a public lecture for doctoral students with the theme “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence for Higher Education, Particularly in the Fields of Teaching and Research.” The event took place at the 2nd Floor Auditorium of the FTUI IDE Building (August 25) and featured Prof. Dr. Eng. Wisnu Jatmiko, S.T., M.Kom., from the Faculty of Computer Science UI, as the keynote speaker.

In his presentation, Prof. Wisnu emphasized that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education serves not only as a supporting tool but also as a catalyst for academic transformation. “AI can open new opportunities for adaptive learning, research data analysis, and academic management efficiency. With proper utilization, AI can strengthen research quality and foster a more responsive educational ecosystem,” said Prof. Wisnu.

The lecture was attended by doctoral students from various disciplines, lecturers, and academic staff. Participants gained insights into the latest developments in AI technology and its practical applications to support educational and research processes in universities.

FTUI Dean, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the success of the event. “This public lecture serves as an important forum for the FTUI academic community to understand the relevance of AI in the advancement of higher education. We hope doctoral students can integrate this technology into their research, contributing meaningfully to the progress of science and national development,” stated Prof. Kemas.

Through this public lecture, FTUI reaffirms its commitment to continuously foster academic innovation aligned with global technological advancements while strengthening its role as a center of excellence in engineering research and education in Indonesia.
