FTUI Recognizes Researchers and Innovators Receiving Research Grants and Incentives in 2025

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), extended its appreciation to researchers and innovators who successfully secured research funding and incentives for 2025. The support comes from three major funding schemes: the 2025 Intellectual Property Incentive Grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek); the 2025 World Class University (WCU) Community Development Grant from DPIS-UI; and the 2025 FTUI Innovation Grant from internal faculty funding.

This initiative reflects FTUI’s strong commitment to advancing impactful research and innovation that benefits society, industry, and the academic community.

Recipients of the 2025 Intellectual Property Incentive Grant

Three FTUI researchers received recognition for their contributions to research and technological innovation:

  • Dr. Ruki Harwahyu, S.T., M.T., M.Sc. for his work “Submit-Manuscript.Org” under the High-Impact Non-Patent scheme.
  • Ir. Rahmat Saptono, M.Sc.Tech., Ph.D. for his research “Method and Equipment for Testing Sheet Metal to Simulate Biaxial Equivalent Strain Conditions Using Grease or Other Viscous Media” under the Granted Simple Patent scheme.
  • Prof. Dr. Ir. Donanta Dhaneswara, M.Si. for his innovation “Process for Manufacturing Degasser Tablets Using Sodium Fluoride as the Main Element” under the Industry-Implemented Simple Patent scheme.

Recipients of the 2025 WCU Community Development Grant

FTUI also recognized two researchers who received the 2025 WCU Community Development Grant (Inbound Scheme) from DPIS-UI:

  • Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Chalid, S.Si., M.Sc.Eng. with the program “Merdeka Sampah: Institutional Transformation Towards Zero Waste in Educational Institutions.”
  • Dr. Inaki Maulida Hakim, S.T., M.T. with the program “Development of Environmentally Friendly Technology through the Design of a Plorot Machine to Improve Batik SME Production Processes.”

Both programs focus on applying technology and social innovation for environmental management and community empowerment.

Recipients of the 2025 FTUI Innovation Grant

Ten FTUI lecturers and researchers received innovation grants through internal faculty funding. Each project introduces new ideas in renewable energy, environmental technology, and intelligent systems:

  • Innovation in Renewable Energy Efficiency Technology for Paving Block Production – Prof. Dr. Ir. Sigit Pranowo Hadiwardoyo, DEA.
  • Design of a Horizontal Wind Turbine for Low Wind Speed Areas Using CST and Genetic Algorithms for Airfoil Optimization – Sheila Tobing, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.
  • High-Performance Drilling Fluid Additive Formula Based on Few-Layer Graphene – Eny Kusrini, Ph.D.
  • VERITAS-AI: Development of a Multimodal Statement Analysis System for Data Integrity Verification in the Public Service Sector – Muhammad Firdaus Syawaludin Lubis, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.
  • Design of a Carbonation Reactor for Mortar with Real-Time Process Monitoring – Prof. Dr. Ir. Setijo Bismo, DEA.
  • Prototype of a Distributed Battery Management System for 100Ah Prismatic LiFePo4 – Prof. Dr. Ir. Feri Yusivar, M.Eng.
  • Development of a Portable Oxygen Concentrator for Neonatal Use with ESP-32-Based Control – Prof. Dr. Ir. Imansyah Ibnu Hakim, M.Eng.
  • RE-BY (Rammed Earth-By Product): Performative Rammed Earth Composite Blocks Using Alternative By-Product Binder Materials – Dr. Ing. Dalhar Susanto.
  • Development of an Electrolyzer with Platinum and Ruthenium Catalysts for Green Hydrogen Production in Marine Transportation Applications – Kurniawan Teguh Waskito, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.
  • Intelligent Asset Management System – Ajib Setyo Arifin, Ph.D.

FTUI Dean Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for these achievements, stating:

“I highly appreciate the hard work and dedication of FTUI researchers who continue to innovate across various fields. These grants and incentives are vital steps to ensure the sustainability of research and to make sure that every innovation born at FTUI delivers long-term benefits for industry and society.”

FTUI remains committed to strengthening its support for research and innovation activities by providing internal funding schemes, expanding collaborations with industry, and promoting the downstream implementation of research outcomes.

These incentive and grant programs are expected to stimulate the emergence of more innovative works that address national needs. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration and strategic partnerships, FTUI will continue to contribute to the creation of sustainable, solution-oriented technologies that bring a positive impact to Indonesia.
