IMPASTEK UI and Pemuda Energi Indonesia Successfully Hold the 2025 Indonesia Youth Energy Program on Heroes’ Day

In the spirit of commemorating Indonesia’s National Heroes’ Day, the Association of Postgraduate Engineering Students of Universitas Indonesia (IMPASTEK UI), together with Pemuda Energi Indonesia, organized the Indonesia Youth Energy Program (IYEP) 2025 at the MRPQ Hall – Mochtar Riyadi Plaza Quantum, Universitas Indonesia (10/11). The event featured a series of discussions, policy dialogues, and collaborative forums focusing on national energy issues.

Carrying the theme “Pertamina as the Backbone of the Nation: Optimizing Oil and Gas Governance to Achieve National Energy Self-Sufficiency,” the forum served as a strategic platform that brought together youth, academics, and key stakeholders from the energy sector.

Chairman of IMPASTEK UI, MH. Ridlo Imaduddin Rahman, stated that the commemoration of Heroes’ Day is a moment for the younger generation to contribute through ideas and innovation. Ridlo emphasized that energy issues have strategic dimensions that go beyond electricity, oil and gas, or mining—they also reflect perseverance, creativity, and the courage to build the nation. He further highlighted the importance of youth involvement in national policy formulation and demonstrated that young people are capable of directly engaging with policymakers and offering viable solutions.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the event. “FTUI fully supports student initiatives in strengthening youth literacy and participation in national energy issues. Forums like this are important because they open spaces for dialogue between academia, industry, and government. I hope all of you will continue contributing with relevant, data-driven ideas to help address Indonesia’s energy resilience challenges.”

Several prominent speakers attended as national resource persons from the energy sector and higher education, including:

  • Dr. Ir. Agus Puji Prasetyono, M.Eng, IPU – National Energy Council
  • Fitria Erika – Senior Manager, Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE)
  • Fransetya Hasudungan Hutabarat – Finance Director, Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI)
