FTUI Explores Strengthening Academic and Research Collaboration with Centrale Lille Institute of Technology

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed a delegation from Centrale Lille Institute of Technology on Friday (27/02) at the DGB Room, Dean’s Building. The meeting discussed opportunities for strategic collaboration in education, student mobility, and joint research between the two institutions.

During the discussion, both parties explored several potential collaborations, including student exchanges, research internships, joint programs, and double-degree programs. Several fields were highlighted as potential areas of collaboration, including Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity, technology management and entrepreneurship, as well as chemical engineering and sustainable processes for industry.

As a follow-up, Centrale Lille Institute of Technology offered student mobility schemes in the form of coursework-based semesters as well as research-based programs. These programs would enable students to take elective courses and conduct research projects in Centrale Lille laboratories, without requiring mandatory proficiency in the French language.

Both institutions also discussed developing a joint master’s degree program in structures and geotechnical engineering. They explored possible funding support through scholarship schemes from Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP).

On this occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with Centrale Lille Institute of Technology as a strategic step to expand academic and research partnerships at the global level.

“FTUI continues to encourage the strengthening of international collaborations with leading educational institutions around the world. Through cooperation with Centrale Lille, we hope to create more opportunities for student mobility, the development of joint academic programs, and collaborative research that contributes to technological advancement and solutions to global challenges,” said Prof. Kemas.

Through this exploratory discussion, FTUI hopes to further expand its international collaborations while opening more opportunities for students and researchers to participate in impactful global education and research programs.
