Students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) have once again achieved international recognition through the success of Team Ganeshas Divas, which secured the 2nd Runner-Up title at the International Business Case Competition (IBCC) Ganesha Business Festival 2026, organized by the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB). The competition was held from 3 April to 23 May 2026 and attracted more than 100 teams from universities across the globe.
Team Ganeshas Divas consisted of Andhika Hernando (Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Class of 2023), Daiva Akmal Surjaatmadja (Industrial Engineering, Class of 2023), Michelle Claudia Angel Sugianto (Bioprocess Engineering, Class of 2023), and Raisa Nurhafiza (Chemical Engineering, Class of 2023). For the competition, the team presented a business proposal entitled “The C.A.R.E. Strategy: Redefining Health Insurance with AI Efficiency and Human Trust,” focusing on transforming health insurance services through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and a human-centered service approach.
The International Business Case Competition 2026 was one of the flagship events of the Ganesha Business Festival 2026, held under the theme “The Human Formula: Crafting Innovation Through Empathy.” The competition challenged participants to develop innovative, strategic, and socially impactful business solutions to address contemporary industry challenges.
Through the C.A.R.E. Strategy, Team Ganeshas Divas proposed a transformation framework for Zurich Indonesia’s health insurance services aimed at enhancing customer experience by combining AI-driven efficiency with meaningful human interaction. The strategy is built upon four key pillars—Claim Care, Advisor, Relationship Signals, and Empathy—designed to deliver insurance services that are faster, more transparent, personalized, and trustworthy.
“We wanted to demonstrate that AI technology does not have to replace the human touch in customer service. Through the C.A.R.E. Strategy, we sought to develop a solution that continues to prioritize empathy, transparency, and customer comfort while leveraging the efficiency of AI,” said Raisa Nurhafiza, one of the members of Team Ganeshas Divas.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, commended the team’s achievement as a reflection of FTUI students’ ability to develop multidisciplinary solutions that address today’s industrial challenges.
“This achievement demonstrates that FTUI students excel not only in technical and analytical competencies, but also in creating human-centered innovations that generate meaningful impact for society,” said Prof. Kemas.
The success of Team Ganeshas Divas is expected to inspire other FTUI students to continue developing innovative, adaptive, and solution-oriented ideas that contribute positively to society while addressing the evolving needs of industry.
