Became the First Graduate of Master of Material Integrity Management FTUI, Triadi Graduated Cumlaude in 1.5 Years

A sense of pride is being felt by Triadi Panthun Tiggor, a student of the Material Integrity Management Masters Program, Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (MIM DTMM FTUI). How could I not? At the Graduation Ceremony of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) for the Academic Year 2022/2023, last Saturday (11/03), Triadi was awarded his Master’s degree with satisfying results. He was the first graduate of the FTUI DTMM MIM Masters Program and managed to achieve an almost perfect GPA of 3.92 in only 3 semesters (1.5 years).

Through his thesis entitled “Implementation of Integrity Management Systems in Extending the Service Life of Offshore Production Facilities”, Triadi proposed a framework for implementing risk management for the selection of Construction Materials (MoC) which is carried out to demonstrate risk in considering and evaluating the extension of the service life of offshore production facilities.

“This proposed framework can increase confidence in placing the results of the assessment in the right decision-making process and can improve the integrity management system in extending the service life of offshore production facilities. As a continuation of this research, several things need to be developed, namely a risk-based inspection approach and Utilizing Nonlinear Stochastic Modeling,” said Triadi.

The achievement as the first graduate and Cumlaude GPA did not make Triadi proud. In his narrative, he was very grateful and lucky because he was able to study at MIM DTMM FTUI.

“As a graduate of the MIM DTMM FTUI Masters Program, I feel very fortunate and grateful for obtaining technical education and best practices to ensure material integrity and understand the risks of failure. A quality curriculum and experienced lecturers and diverse lecture partners have made me understand the material and provide motivation to keep learning. I believe this knowledge will be useful in making better decisions to make a positive contribution to the company,” said Triadi.

In working on his thesis, Triadi, who also works at Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, was guided by Dr. Ir. Jaka Fajar Fatriansyah, M.Sc., IPM., who is also the Head of the FTUI MIM DTMM Study Program, and practitioner Ir. Adam Maulana Mustafa, MT., IPM., CFSP., CCPSC.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU stated that the MIM Study Program (Prodi) which had just opened in 2021 was enthusiastically welcomed by actors, consultants and policymakers in the physical and production facility maintenance industry. “Amazingly, this study program which is still very young has produced five scientific papers that were published in International Journals where the researchers collaborated with an oil company from Qatar and one international conference proceedings. It is hoped that in the future, the FTUI MIM Study Program will continue to produce the best, most qualified, and competent graduates in the field of Material Integrity Management.”
