At the end of March 2023, CDC FTUI held a Campus Hiring activity with Samudera Indonesia. Samudera Indonesia is a company engaged in the shipping and logistics sector that has been in business for more than 70 years. The activity entitled “Sails to the Universitas Indonesia: Boundless Opportunities Navigated by You” was held at the Smart Meeting Room Building, the Dean Building of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. This activity is a form of collaboration between the Career Development Center of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (CDC FTUI) and Samudera Indonesia to provide career opportunities for students and alumni of the UI Faculty of Engineering.
In this seminar, there were 144 applicants from various departments within the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, as well as students and alumni from outside FTUI. This session was opened with an explanation of the history of the establishment of Samudera Indonesia, its business lines, work culture, and so on. After that, the activity continued with a discussion session with seniors who explained the projects that had been carried out and their work experiences in their respective fields.
The career opportunity that is currently open is the Samudera Management Development Program (SMDP) which can be applied for by final semester students and recent graduates with a maximum of two years of working experience. This program is a Management Trainee program from Samudera Indonesia designed to develop careers for young, energetic, and courageous talents to increase their potential as future leaders. By participating in this program, participants will get limitless opportunities through extensive learning and hands-on experience in six business lines of Samudera Indonesia. Registration for this program can be accessed through the website https://www.samudera.id/smdp until 30 April 2023.
”With activities like this, it is hoped that FTUI students and graduates will have more career opportunities. Apart from that, this activity is also a form of FTUI CDC’s commitment to continue developing their careers and potential so that FTUI students and graduates are better prepared to face the post-campus world. Similar activities or other career opportunities can also be seen through the FTUI CDC social media channels,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.
