FTUI Capacity Building 2025: FTUI Proud of Its Culture

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), once again held its annual Capacity Building program for administrative and support staff, this time taking place in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on July 30–31, 2025. This yearly event aims to strengthen teamwork, boost work motivation, and enhance communication and synergy among the various units within FTUI.

This year’s Capacity Building, attended by 236 participants from different departments and units across FTUI, carried the theme “FTUI Proud of Its Culture.” The program began with a motivational seminar titled “Increasing Mega Profit in Life” delivered by national motivator Rinjana Kurniawan. During the session, participants were encouraged to discover their best potential and find deeper meaning in their work to foster a productive and impactful performance.

The event continued with a Townhall Meeting led directly by the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. Held in Lombok, the meeting served as an open forum for dialogue between university leadership and administrative staff. It strengthened two-way communication and provided a platform for staff members to share aspirations and suggestions to support a more synergistic and productive work environment.

In the evening, a lively and joyful Gala Dinner featured creative performances from each department. Eight teams representing the departments and the Dean’s Office took part, with the Dean’s Office/PAF emerging as the first-place winner, followed by the Department of Electrical Engineering in second place and the Department of Chemical Engineering in third.

The following day, the Capacity Building activities continued with a leisure trip to Gili Trawangan. Beyond offering relaxation and mental rejuvenation, the trip also strengthened informal interactions among staff outside their daily routines. The event concluded with a shopping visit for Lombok’s local souvenirs as a gesture of support for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

“Through this Capacity Building program, we aim to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and sense of belonging among all FTUI administrative and support staff. The theme ‘FTUI Proud of Its Culture’ reflects our commitment to building a collaborative, appreciative, and forward-looking work culture. Our administrative staff are a vital foundation in FTUI’s journey toward becoming a world-class faculty of engineering,” said Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FTUI.

With the successful implementation of this program, FTUI hopes to maintain the spirit of unity and motivation among all staff, in line with its commitment to creating a healthy, collaborative, and excellent work environment in pursuit of its vision to become a world-class faculty of engineering.
