The Career Development Center of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (CDC FTUI), in collaboration with PT China State Construction Overseas Development Shanghai (PT CSCODS), held a seminar and campus hiring event titled Kickstart Your Career with PT CSCODS on Thursday (April 24) at the Smart Meeting Room, Dean Building, FTUI.
The event was attended by Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Partnership, Venture, and Entrepreneurship at FTUI, representing the Faculty. Also present were Mr. Rokeen (Zhao Yebao), Director of PT China State Construction Overseas Development Shanghai (PT CSCODS); Mr. Joris (Ji Zhongqing), Project Manager at Polygroup Project; Arliza Arga, HR Manager of PT CSCODS; and Idham Sadaqa Julantono, a QS Engineer and an alumnus of Universitas Indonesia.
“This event is not only a platform for sharing insights and knowledge about the construction industry and international project development, but also a golden opportunity for students and graduates seeking job openings or internship opportunities,” said Dr. Sahlan in his opening remarks.
Dr. Sahlan also expressed his enthusiasm for the walk-in interviews during the event, noting that they provide a chance to meet and engage with experts from the construction industry. According to him, this is a valuable moment for students to discuss, ask questions, and even build direct connections with seasoned professionals involved in large-scale global projects.
“Since establishing our company in Indonesia in 2017, we have undertaken many projects across various regions such as Bali, Central Java, West Java, Jakarta, and Sumatra. We truly hope that FTUI students can join our team. Take this opportunity to learn everything about our company,” said Mr. Rokeen in his address.
The seminar began with a company introduction presented by Arliza Arga, followed by a presentation from Mr. Joris (Ji Zhongqing), and a sharing session from Idham Sadaqa Julantono, a UI alumnus currently working at PT CSCODS. After the Q&A session, students who submitted their CVs participated in walk-in interviews.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., also shared his thoughts on the event. “We believe that activities like this serve as a crucial bridge between the academic and professional worlds, broadening our perspectives and enhancing our readiness to compete in an increasingly competitive job market, both nationally and internationally,” stated Prof. Kemas.
