This year’s theme, “Inclusive and Sustainable Technology Education for a Better Future,” highlights the importance of technology education that not only focuses on technical skills but also on inclusivity and sustainability. As the digital era advances and the demand for human resources capable of facing global challenges grows, CEP-CCIT FTUI remains committed to producing graduates who are not only competent but also have a broad perspective on the role of technology in creating a better world.
CEP-CCIT FTUI believes that technology education should be accessible to everyone, not limited to certain aspects alone. Inclusive and sustainable technology will be key for graduates to contribute to equitable development in the future.
Opening the event, the Director of CEP-CCIT FTUI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, delivered a meaningful speech. He emphasized the importance of shaping strong character in graduates as the foundation to face the challenges of the workforce and increasingly fierce global competition.
In his speech, Prof. Suryanegara said, “In an era of rapid change and disruptive technological advancements, technical skills alone are not enough. Graduates need to have resilience, integrity, and adaptability to remain relevant and competitive. The challenges of future competition are not only about technical ability but also the capacity to collaborate, innovate, and uphold strong ethical values.” This message is intended to motivate graduates to not only excel technically but also to have the character that will help them succeed in various situations and environments.
The Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., also delivered a speech at the event. He emphasized the importance of CEP-CCIT FTUI in meeting industry needs for ready-to-work, highly skilled personnel who can face global competition.
“CEP-CCIT FTUI does not only provide technical education but also equips its graduates with the skills and understanding necessary to adapt to a dynamic industrial environment. We believe that CCIT graduates are valuable assets, not just for the Faculty of Engineering at UI, but also for Indonesia in strengthening its competitiveness on the global stage,” Prof. Yanuar said.
The event also featured a scientific oration delivered by Mrs. Dhova Shahroza, S.Psi., M.Soc.Sc., Psychologist at CCIT FTUI, a professional in the field of psychology. She presented a lecture entitled “Workplace Challenges and Mental Health of the Zoomer Generation (Gen Z),” a highly relevant theme given the current condition of the younger generation in the digital age. In her oration, Mrs. Dhova discussed the challenges faced by the Zoomer Generation, or Gen Z, as they enter an increasingly competitive and complex job market. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of mental health as a factor influencing their performance and career sustainability.
Mrs. Dhova stated, “The younger generation today, especially Gen Z, faces high pressures and expectations in the workplace. They are not only required to quickly adapt to technological developments but also need strong interpersonal skills and resilience. Mental health is a crucial aspect that is often overlooked, yet it is vital for supporting productivity and happiness in their careers.” She hopes that with a better understanding of these challenges, graduates will be better prepared to face the workforce while maintaining their mental well-being.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., expressed, “On this special occasion, we extend our highest appreciation to all the graduates of CEP-CCIT FTUI who have travelled a long journey to achieve their technology education. We believe that inclusive and sustainable technology education is the key to building a better future, where every individual has an equal opportunity to develop and contribute to solving global challenges. As part of FTUI’s commitment, we continue to support the development of innovations that are not only relevant to the needs of the current industry but also consider social and environmental impacts. We hope that the graduates will become agents of change who bring a positive impact to society and the world.”
