David Fernando, a student of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering FTUI Batch of 2020 was declared the Grand Champion for FTUI 2023 Outstanding Student. The idea of David Fernando’s scientific paper entitled “Ni-Cell: Optimization of the Circular Economy with the Direct Recycling Method in Processing Used Li-ion Batteries for Electric Vehicles” in Indonesia” succeeded in bringing him as the Main Champion of the 2023 FTUI Outstanding Student under the guidance of Dr.-Ing. Reza Miftahul Ulum, S.T. M.T.
The 2023 FTUI Main Outstanding Student Open Presentation was organized by the FTUI Student Affairs, Research and Community Service Unit together with the Academic and Professional Affairs of the FTUI Student Executive Body (BEM). This event was held offline in Makara 04 Smart Meeting Room FTUI on Friday (17/03).
Manager of Student Affairs, Research and Community Service FTUI, Dr.rer.pol. Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T. said, “The open presentation is one of a series of selections for outstanding students at the faculty level after previously going through the stages of evaluating general achievements, curriculum vitae, English language proficiency, and scientific writing ideas. The aspects that are assessed from this open presentation are the method of presentation of the scientific writing material that has been made by each prospective outstanding student and how the prospective outstanding student answers questions given by the jury in English.”
“Today we will hold an open presentation as the last series in the 2023 FTUI outstanding student selection. The selected students will later represent FTUI to advance in the Outstanding Student event at the UI level and national level. Whoever will be chosen later, the best support and prayers from FTUI will always be with you so that you can get the best results in the Outstanding Student event at the UI and national levels,” said the FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.
In the open presentation, three FTUI lecturers who became members of the jury were Dr. -Eng. Ridho Irwansyah, Ahmad Syihan Auzani S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and Rahma Muthia, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. Five outstanding prospective students presented their scientific papers in an open presentation, namely Safry Sitorus from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, David Fernando from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Rizqi Estu from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Fatih Dzulfiqar from the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Kautsar Muhammad Iqbal from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
