Exhibition of Design Projects by Electrical Engineering Students at FTUI

The Department of Electrical Engineering (DTE) at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), organized an exhibition showcasing design projects by the Electrical Engineering study program in the K Building lobby at FTUI (13/12). This event served as a platform for more than 30 student groups from the 2020 cohort to present their design projects, focusing on issues around the FTUI environment.

The exhibition was also part of fulfilling the project design course requirements, with instructors including Ir. Purnomo Sidi Priambodo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dr. Abdul Muis, S.T., M.Eng., Taufiq Alif Kurniawan, M.T., M.Sc., and Aji Nur Widyanto, S.T., M.T.

Rudi, a student in group 3.7, presented the innovative product developed by his team. “Our team created a groundwater level monitoring system using ultrasonic sensors that can generate and reflect waves. This device can measure the distance from the ground surface to the water surface. We designed this device because it has the potential for a wide range of applications, from wells, ponds, water towers, to measuring the distance between solid objects like walls,” he explained.

Another member, Reza, further shared his experience during the project design process. He mentioned that he learned a lot about how the design project process is carried out to create solutions to existing problems. In this case, group 3.7 realized the importance of monitoring water levels for various aspects, prompting them to create a water level monitoring device.

Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU, the dean of FTUI, expressed his appreciation for the creativity and dedication of the Electrical Engineering students. “The students’ work in creating innovative solutions to environmental issues around FTUI will ignite the spirit of creativity within them. The presence of the exhibition of Design Projects by the Electrical Engineering study program shows that FTUI students can apply their knowledge to create relevant and beneficial solutions.”
