Information on entry paths and study programs at the Universitas Indonesia is information that is highly sought after and needed by high school students, especially those in grade 12. The prolonged pandemic has become an obstacle for high school students to visit the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) and get information directly or look at the educational facilities on the FTUI campus.
To help the students of SMAN 5 Tambun Bekasi obtain clearer information regarding the entry path and study program, 10 school representatives visited FTUI on 3 February 2022. The team that attended consisted of the Principal, several teacher representatives and representatives from the school POM. The group was received by Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Sc., CPR., Associate Dean for Public Communication and General Administration and a team from the FTUI Public Relations Office. This visit was not only for listening to presentations and discussions but also for exploring virtual presentations from FTUI and several other faculties within UI to give virtual presentations to school students.
“We really understand the needs of the students of SMAN 5 Tambun Bekasi. FTUI is happy to fulfill requests from schools to convey the information needed, especially regarding FTUI and the study programs available at FTUI. Hopefully in the future more and more students of SMAN 5 Tambun Bekasi will join as FTUI students,” said Tikka regarding the visit.
As a continuation of the visit, on February 15, 2022, FTUI was invited by SMAN 5 Tambun Bekasi to participate in the Webinar Careerday 1 with the theme Virtually SNMPTN Socialization for Students, Eligible Parents. Besides FTUI, speakers from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) UI were also present. The webinar was attended by 151 students.
At the opening, Riagung Prastyo, S.Si., M.Pd., Principal of SMAN 5 Tambun expressed his appreciation for the willingness of FTUI and FKM UI to provide information for school students. “We are very happy and honored today to have guests from the University of Indonesia. Hopefully, in today’s webinar, students can get clear and clear information regarding the UI entrance route, especially the invitation route. Students can also ask questions about the majors and study programs at FTUI and FKM UI so that they can decide which major they will choose later.”
