On Wednesday (12/3), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), welcomed Prof. Eunice Seng, Head of the Department of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), during HKU’s first delegation visit to FTUI. The meeting took place in the Professors’ Council Room, FTUI Dean’s Building, and was attended by the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Manager of Partnerships and International Education, Andyka Kusuma, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Ir. Achmad Hery Fuad, M.Eng.; and Head of the Urban and Regional Planning Program, Prof. Antony Sihombing, MPD., Ph.D.

During this meeting, FTUI and HKU explored potential academic and research collaborations between the two universities. Currently, there is no formal partnership between FTUI and HKU.

The event began with a warm welcome from Prof. Kemas to Prof. Eunice Seng. Prof. Kemas provided an overview of FTUI, including the faculty’s profile, academic programs, and global rankings.

Prof. Eunice Seng also shared insights about HKU, highlighting that the Faculty of Architecture is one of the largest among the university’s ten faculties. She explained that the faculty offers undergraduate and master’s programs, which could be the foundation for a potential double-degree collaboration.

There are various other potential collaboration opportunities between FTUI and HKU, including student exchange programs and summer elective courses at the faculty level. Additionally, research collaborations could be established through joint research, studios, workshops, and joint project fellowships.

“This meeting is a great opportunity to initiate collaboration between FTUI and HKU. We hope to establish partnerships in various areas, such as student exchanges and research collaborations,” said Prof. Kemas.
