Faculty of Engineering UI and Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University Explore Potential Collaboration

On Wednesday (7/5), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), welcomed Dr. Davide Lombardi, Head of the Department of Architecture at Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU). The meeting occurred in the Professors’ Council Room, FTUI Dean Building, and was attended by FTUI’s Manager of Partnerships and International Education, Andyka Kusuma, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Manager of Collaboration, Ventures, and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng.; Secretary of the Planning, Performance Monitoring, and Educational Modernization Unit, Dr. Miktha Farid Alkadri, S.Ars., M.Ars.; and Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Ir. Achmad Hery Fuad, M.Eng.

FTUI and XJTLU discussed potential academic collaboration between the two institutions during the meeting. One of the key areas of potential cooperation includes a Dual Degree program at the study program level, particularly in the Architecture program.

Andyka Kusuma welcomed Dr. Davide Lombardi by introducing FTUI. He provided an overview of the faculty, including the campus profile, academic programs, and FTUI’s global rankings.

Dr. Davide Lombardi also presented information about XJTLU. He explained that XJTLU has two schools relevant to FTUI for potential collaboration: the School of Advanced Technology and the Design School. The Design School comprises four departments: the Department of Architecture, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Industrial Design, and the Department of Urban Planning & Design.

“This meeting is a great opportunity to initiate collaboration between FTUI and XJTLU. We hope to establish cooperation in various areas such as student exchange programs and research collaborations,” said Andyka Kusuma.

XJTLU is a university formed through a partnership between Xi’an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool. Established in 2006, the university offers over 100 degree programs in science, engineering, business, finance, architecture, urban planning, languages, and culture.
