The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), has once again demonstrated its position as a leading institution in research and technological innovation. In 2025, a total of 26 research proposals from FTUI successfully received funding from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (DIKTI). This achievement is a testament to the productivity and quality of research conducted by FTUI’s academic community.
The funded research covers a wide range of topics, including renewable energy, advanced materials technology, artificial intelligence, as well as innovations in health and environmental sectors. These research projects fall under various grant schemes, such as the Regular Fundamental Research (PFR), Postgraduate Research – Doctoral Dissertation Program (PPS-PDD), Postgraduate Research – PMDSU Program (PPS-PMDSU), Applied Research – Prototype Output (PT-LP), and Postgraduate Research – Master’s Thesis Program (PPS-PTM).
The Rector of UI, Prof. Heri Hermansyah, who is also one of this year’s grant recipients, emphasized that this accomplishment is the result of the dedication and hard work of FTUI’s faculty members and researchers who are committed to delivering relevant and applicable technological solutions to both national and global challenges.
Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FTUI, also expressed his appreciation, stating, “FTUI continues to foster a strong, collaborative, and impactful research culture. The grant awards are expected not only to lead to outstanding publications and prototypes but also to support the strengthening of academic capabilities, industry partnerships, and evidence-based policymaking.”
