Tuesday (8/06), the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UI received a visit from the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNHAS. Dr. Bambang Heru Susanto, ST. MT as the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department FT UI was present accompanied by the FTUI DTK curriculum team, Apriliana Cahya Khayrani, STP., M.Eng., Ph.D., Dr. rer. grout. Ir. Yuswan Muharam M.T., Dr. Tania Surya Utami, ST., MT. (Head of Bioprocess Engineering Study Program), and Rahma Muthia, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Prof. Ahyar Ahmad, Ph.D (Chairman of the Chemical Sciences Doctoral Program) as a representative of FMIPA UNHAS came with several other lecturers and staff of FMIPA UNHAS, namely Dr. Hasnah Natsir (Chairman of the Chemical Science Masters Program), Dr. St. Fauziah, M.Sc. (Secretary of the Department of Chemistry), and Dr. Nur Umriani Primitasari, M.Sc. (Department of Chemistry).
The purpose of the meeting between FTUI and UNHAS is to conduct a comparative study with the Department of Chemical Engineering FTUI to exchange information about the curriculum, SOPs, guidelines for organizing study programs and others. This is done by UNHAS to prepare for the implementation of the Superior Accreditation of Masters, Masters, and Doctoral programs which will be carried out by the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNHAS.
“Regarding academics, thank God, all study programs in the Chemistry Department have EXCELLENT status, both S1, S2, and S3. Lastly, the Master of Chemical Engineering has entered LAM and coincidentally yesterday was offered as a pilot. The LAM accreditation process was prepared for 1 month and yesterday it was announced that the result was EXCELLENT,” said Dr. Bambang related to the accreditation of study programs in the Department of Chemical Engineering, FTUI.
Dr. Bambang also explained that the Department of Chemical Engineering FTUI has an agenda called ‘DTK Greet’. The agenda, which is held at least once a month, is an agenda where DTK visits stakeholders such as industry or research institutions on a regular basis. The purpose of this agenda is so that DTK can get out of their comfort zone and can take new lessons.
The meeting continued with discussions on MBKM, research, value systems, and teaching human resources at each university. Furthermore, Dr. Bambang said that later the Department of Chemical Engineering FTUI would take turns to make visits to the Department of Chemistry UNHAS.
