The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia (FTUI) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Syiah Kuala (FT UNSYIAH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (15/01). This agreement encompasses various strategic areas of collaboration aimed at enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service. The signing ceremony was conducted by the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., and the Vice Dean III of FT UNSYIAH Kuala, Dr. Ir. Farid Maulana S.T. M.Eng.
Prof. Heri Hermansyah welcomed the signing of the MoU as a positive step in strengthening the collaboration between FTUI and FT UNSYIAH. He stated, “This collaboration is a manifestation of our commitment to continually improve the quality of education and research in the field of engineering. With this MoU, more opportunities will arise for collaboration and the creation of innovations together.”
“This agreement not only reflects our commitment to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service but also opens up significant opportunities for broader and sustainable collaboration. Hopefully, this collaboration will bring great benefits to both faculties, universities, and the community as a whole,” said Dr. Farid.
Within the framework of this MoU, both faculties agreed to carry out various educational and training activities, research, and community service. These efforts aim to produce high-quality industrial human resources. Additionally, the MoU includes the dispatch of Advanced Study Lecturers, where each party can propose their lecturers to act as co-promoters or supervisors at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Syiah Kuala.
There is also collaboration in the areas of internships and internship programs in the context of the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) for relevant departments and programs for both parties. These activities are expected to provide practical experience to students, aligning with the goals of the independent campus. Furthermore, collaboration is also conducted through the enhancement of the competence and professionalism of human resources, focusing on training activities and workshops that will be carried out.
Moreover, this MoU emphasizes joint involvement in consultancy activities with various stakeholders. Thus, FTUI and FT UNSYIAH can actively contribute to the development and application of science and technology in the industrial world. The signing of this MoU marks the initial step in the joint effort to create positive synergy in enhancing the quality of education and research.
