FTUI and Jasa Marga Hold Monitoring and Evaluation Meeting on Educational Collaboration to Enhance Academic Effectiveness and Quality

On Monday (March 17), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) meeting regarding its educational collaboration with PT Jasa Marga. The event, which took place in the Senate Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building, aimed to assess the academic progress of students in the Master’s Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Project Management, which is part of the collaboration.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs; Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration; Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng.; Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr.; Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; Dr. Rossy Armyn Machfudiyanto, S.T., M.T.; as well as representatives from Jasa Marga, including Mrs. Irawati Savitri, Jasa Marga Learning Institute Group Head; Mrs. Dwi Ayu Destiningtias; and Mrs. Tansy Andrainie Chandra.

The event was opened with remarks from Prof. Yanuar on behalf of FTUI. In his speech, he appreciated this collaboration and emphasized the importance of evaluation to ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively. “This evaluation is crucial in ensuring that the program runs well, students gain an optimal academic experience, and the research produced can contribute significantly to the industry. We hope that students can be more disciplined in completing their studies and make the most of this opportunity,” said Prof. Yanuar.

In the general evaluation of students academic progress, most students demonstrated exemplary academic performance and remained within the expected study period. However, some students require extra attention to ensure they do not exceed their study limits. The collaboration mechanism and program structure are designed to allow students to complete their studies without disrupting their work commitments. As part of the process, the company can determine thesis topics relevant to business needs and provide internal mentors to guide student research.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated, “This collaboration program certainly presents its own challenges, such as the effectiveness of studying while working, where students need to maintain discipline in following the academic schedule. Students must undergo a pre-thesis defence before the midterm exams and complete their thesis before the Eid holiday.”

Before the discussion concluded, Mrs. Irawati Savitri, Jasa Marga Learning Institute Group Head, also expressed her gratitude, stating, “We sincerely thank all faculty members who have assisted our colleagues from Jasa Marga in their thesis work. We hope our colleagues can complete their theses by July and graduate soon. With the increasing demand for publications within Jasa Marga, we hope that the theses produced align with their jobs so that they can also benefit the company.”

As a result of this monitoring and evaluation, FTUI and Jasa Marga agreed to continue optimizing the program to be more effective for working students. It is hoped that students will be more disciplined in adhering to the academic schedule and completing their theses on time. The primary focus for the subsequent evaluation will be completing the pre-thesis defence and scientific publications. With regular evaluations and commitment from all parties, this program is expected to continue running well and provide maximum benefits for students and the industry.
