The Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed a delegation from Pattimura University on Friday (27/12) at the Senate Room of the Dean Building. The visit aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and explore new opportunities in education and research between Pattimura University and Universitas Indonesia. The discussion also included a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and an Implementation Agreement (IA) between the Naval Architecture and Marine Transportation Engineering programs at FTUI and Pattimura University’s Faculty of Engineering.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, stated, “This meeting serves as a starting point for closer collaboration between Pattimura University and the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia. We are very open to sharing knowledge and experiences and collaborating on various programs that benefit both institutions.”
Dr. Pieter Thomas Berhitu, ST, MT, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Pattimura University, emphasized that the visit aimed to leverage FTUI’s resources and expertise, including discussions between program heads from both universities. “Pattimura University has many laboratories that have yet to be fully utilized. Through this visit, we hope to learn from FTUI’s resources and laboratory facilities to develop our own further,” said Dr. Pieter.
The agenda of Pattimura University’s visit to FTUI included several strategic initiatives, such as:
- Strengthening ties between similar study programs at both faculties.
- Providing opportunities for Pattimura University’s Mechanical Engineering staff to pursue doctoral studies at UI through the LPDP and Double Degree schemes.
- Integrating Pattimura University students into the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program with FTUI.
- Building research collaborations among UI, Pattimura University, and ITS.
- Inviting FTUI lecturers to deliver guest lectures at Pattimura University’s Faculty of Engineering.
The collaboration meeting was attended by a delegation from FTUI, including Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. The delegation from Pattimura University was led by Dr. Pieter Thomas Berhitu, ST, MT, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with the Chair of the Faculty Senate, Department Heads, Program Heads, and lecturers from the Civil Engineering Program.
