FTUI held a meeting with PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia) on Monday, September 2, in the Senate Room, Dean’s Building FTUI, to discuss a long-term collaboration plan that includes Japanese language training for FTUI students, aiming to prepare students for careers at Japanese companies. The meeting was attended not only by PT Global Asia but also by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Manager of Cooperation, Ventura, and Alumni; the FTUI CDC team; FTUI student representatives; and the AeroEdge Co., Ltd. team, one of PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia)’s partners.
PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia), a leading HR company, is actively seeking talented candidates from various countries to join work programs in Japan. The company has its main operations in Japan and also collaborates with universities in Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Indonesia. With this global network, PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia) aims to attract engineering talent from around the world.
The program offers a rare opportunity for Faculty of Engineering (FT) students not only to enhance their language skills but also to open broad career opportunities in engineering at Japanese companies. For approximately one year, students will undergo intensive training designed to deeply learn Japanese, preparing them for job interviews with Japanese companies. At the end of the training, students will have the opportunity to participate in interviews with several Japanese companies that are partners of PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia).
Acting Dean of FTUI, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated, “This meeting marks the beginning of designing a long-term collaboration that we believe will greatly benefit our students. With this training, students will gain the necessary language skills and in-depth insights into Japanese corporate culture and working methods.”
Prof. Mahmud also emphasized that this initiative will not only enhance the competitiveness of FTUI graduates in the global job market but also open wider career opportunities at international companies. “We hope this collaboration will continue to develop and positively contribute to the advancement of our students and strengthen the relationship between FTUI and the global industry,” he added in a separate meeting.
“With this collaboration, we hope to expand our reach and provide more opportunities for students in Indonesia, particularly at FTUI, who have a strong interest in working for Japanese companies. Through this program, we have successfully sent around 5,000 people to 400 companies in Japan as engineers,” said Suzuki Tsukasa, Director of PT Global Asia Consultant (Indonesia).
“We hope this cooperation can continue and be implemented in the future. We will fully support and accommodate all the training needs. We hope this collaboration will further strengthen the bilateral working relationship between Indonesia and Japan,” said Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Manager of Cooperation, Ventura, and Alumni.
