Coinciding with the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) on July 17, 2024, FTUI signed a statement of commitment with PT Indosat Tbk for the procurement of a Smart Auditorium in the IDE Building. The signing was conducted by the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, and the Director & Chief Business Officer of PT Indosat Tbk, Muhammad Buldansyah.
On this occasion, Prof. Heri Hermansyah stated that this collaboration is a step to enhance modern and high-tech academic support facilities. “We warmly welcome the commitment from PT Indosat Tbk to support the procurement of the Smart Auditorium in the IDE Building. This facility is expected to optimally support the teaching and learning process as well as other academic activities,” said Prof. Heri.
Muhammad Buldansyah echoed Prof. Heri’s statement. “The signing of this commitment is an important step in supporting digital transformation in education. As a leading telecommunications company in Indonesia, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is committed to continuously innovating and providing relevant and positively impactful digital solutions for society. This collaboration not only demonstrates our commitment to supporting education but also to promoting the use of advanced technology to create a more interactive and modern learning environment.”
Prof. Heri added that by utilizing the latest technology, the Smart Auditorium in the IDE Building will become an inspiring learning centre, providing a better educational experience for students and fostering broader innovation among academics and professionals. “We hope this partnership can become a successful example of synergy between the education sector and the telecommunications industry.”
The statement of commitment includes several key points, namely that the parties are committed to collaborating on the procurement of one unit of the Smart Auditorium, the specifications of which will be agreed upon in a definitive cooperation agreement. Both parties will also draft a cooperation agreement following the signing of this statement of commitment.
The Smart Auditorium to be built in the IDE Building of FTUI is designed with the latest audiovisual technology and facilities that support academic and non-academic activities. This facility is expected to be used for various activities such as public lectures, conferences, seminars, research presentations, and more. Through collaboration with PT Indosat Tbk, it is hoped that the Smart Auditorium will create a more interactive and immersive learning environment.
