FTUI and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Discuss Collaboration Opportunities to Improve the Quality of Academic Facilities in the FTUI Environment

Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) received a delegation from The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) on Wednesday (12/06). TIKA is a government agency under the Department of Culture and Social Affairs that focuses on improving social welfare. At this meeting, TIKA was represented by Ms. Özlem Güvenç and Mr. Gökhan Keser as Expert staff of TIKA.

“Through this visit, we intend to offer projects to FTUI in the form of equipment assistance, equipment supply, laboratory construction or if FTUI has a fostered village or MSME we can help provide equipment as a means of production that can produce for the community,” said Mr. Gökhan Keser, explaining further about TIKA’s program.

The Head of the FTUI Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., gave a positive response, “Currently, FTUI itself is building the Inter-Disciplinary Engineering Building (IDE Building) which still needs some laboratory equipment, one of which is the development of a basic physics laboratory. Maybe this can be an opportunity for FTUI collaboration with TIKA”.

Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, Dean of FTUI, on a separate occasion, stated, “With this collaboration opportunity with TIKA, it can be a strategy for developing academic facilities within FTUI. It is hoped that in the future it can help improve academic quality and can create education that not only focuses on quality but also innovation and impact that can compete globally.”

Currently, TIKA has carried out several projects with local governments in Indonesia for the construction of community facilities, including the construction of bridges and health aid equipment. In addition, another project under the auspices of TIKA, namely the construction of laboratories and providing trainers at the Cezeri Lab at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh.

Also receiving the delegation was the Head of the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, Deputy Head of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, and Head of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit, Head of Reverse Engineering Center, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng.
