The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), is inviting the nation’s best talents to participate in selecting the FTUI Dean for the 2025–2029. This selection process aims to find a visionary leader capable of establishing FTUI as a centre of innovation in education, research, and community service at national and international levels.
“We hope this selection process will bring forth a leader with the commitment and competence to make Universitas Indonesia more excellent and impactful at the national and global levels,” said UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. Prof. Heri further emphasized that this selection aims to introduce strategic leadership that can drive innovation and sustainable development in education, research, and community engagement.
The selection process begins today, December 27, 2024, and runs until January 30, 2025. It includes several stages:
- Socialization, Registration, and Document Submission
- Administrative Verification
- Announcement of Administrative Verification Results
- Submission of Candidate Names
- Announcement of Candidate Names
- Public Input Session
- Submission of Final Candidate Names to the Rector
- Assessment by UI Leadership (Presentation, Interview, and Announcement)
- Dean’s Inauguration
Prospective Dean candidates must register by submitting a complete set of required documents, including:
- A copy of the ID card (KTP)
- Letter of willingness to serve as Dean
- Copy of academic certificates
- Health certificate issued by a doctor
- Copy of Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- A written essay outlining their motivation to become Dean or School Director within UI, including their vision, mission, and work program aligned with UI’s Strategic Plan
- A stamped declaration that the candidate is not undergoing legal proceedings, not serving any punishment, and has not been stripped of public office eligibility
- A declaration that the candidate has not been a member of a political party in the past five years
- A declaration of no prior violations of the code of ethics or conduct
- A declaration of willingness not to hold dual positions
During registration, applicants must upload the required documents in the prescribed format. The Selection Committee will examine and verify the completeness of administrative requirements on January 7–8, 2025. Subsequently, faculty/school Dean candidates will be announced on January 13, 2025. Public input sessions will be held from January 14–16, 2025, followed by the assessment at the university leadership level from January 17–30, 2025. In addition to FTUI, this selection process is also conducted for several other faculties, including the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Dentistry, and the School of Environmental Science. The Dean and School Director selection process adheres to Rector’s Regulations No. 22 and 23 of 2024 regarding Procedures for Selecting Faculty Deans and School Directors at UI.
