FTUI and PT PLN (Persero) Celebrate the Graduation of 111 Students from the Collaborative Education Program

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), in collaboration with PT PLN (Persero), has successfully conducted a Collaborative Education Program for postgraduate studies. Out of 120 enrolled students, 111 have completed their academic journey at FTUI. To mark this achievement, FTUI and PLN held the FTUI–PT PLN Collaborative Program Graduation Ceremony on Friday (September 12) at Margo Hotel, Depok.

“In 2023, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia proudly welcomed 120 students from PT PLN (Persero) to pursue their studies on our campus. Today, with gratitude and pride, we celebrate the graduation of those who have completed their studies. They not only went through academic learning but also managed to balance it with their professional responsibilities. This makes their learning experience truly valuable and serves as an inspiring example of lifelong learning,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., in his opening remarks.

Prof. Kemas also expressed his hope that the graduates would carry FTUI’s core values—Excellence through Achievement, Empowerment, and Culture—into their professional lives. Achievement means the ability to excel and provide impactful solutions; Empowerment reflects capability, skill, and perseverance in facing challenges; and Culture signifies upholding ethics, integrity, and collaboration in every endeavor. “These are the values we hope will define you as FTUI alumni and as professionals at PLN,” he added.

Oldy Boyke Masinambow, Vice President of Recruitment and Human Capital Competency Development at PT PLN (Persero), also delivered his remarks:

“Since early 2023, Universitas Indonesia has been a strategic partner of PLN in implementing the Distance Learning Program (PBJJ) specifically designed for our employees. From identifying curriculum needs relevant to the electricity and renewable energy sectors, selecting qualified participants, providing flexible and high-quality learning, to guiding thesis research aligned with industrial challenges—particularly those related to PLN’s energy transition and renewable energy development agenda—this program ensures that operational excellence remains a key priority.”

Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Cooperation, Venture, and Entrepreneurship at FTUI, presented a report on the program’s achievements. According to his report, among the 111 graduates, most demonstrated outstanding performance. The top achievement was earned by Wahyu Citra Kurniawan, who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00, along with two other Summa Cum Laude graduates and 26 Cum Laude graduates.

The Department of Energy Systems Engineering followed with 34 graduates and an average GPA of 3.67.
