The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed a delegation from Walsin Lihwa Corporation (Taiwan) for a coordination meeting held at the DGB Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building, on August 21. The meeting discussed potential strategic collaborations, particularly related to the recruitment of FTUI alumni, while also opening opportunities for graduates from various universities.
The meeting was attended by FTUI leadership, including Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng. (Manager of Cooperation, Venture, and Entrepreneurship), and Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T., M.Eng. (Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, FTUI).
Representing Walsin were Mr. C.S. Hsia and Mr. Joss Devin (Walsin Research), as well as Mr. David, Ms. Wenny, and Mr. Sutino (Walsin Lippo). The presence of the delegation reinforced the company’s commitment to building strong partnerships with higher education institutions in Indonesia, particularly FTUI.
During the meeting, Walsin representatives presented their recruitment plans, prioritizing FTUI alumni due to the faculty’s well-established reputation for producing high-quality engineering graduates. The initiative also opens opportunities to graduates from other universities, broadening access for Indonesia’s young talents to contribute at the global level.
FTUI Dean Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for this initiative. “Walsin’s effort to recruit FTUI alumni is a tangible acknowledgment of the quality of education at our faculty. We hope this collaboration will bring mutual benefits for both the company and our alumni, and serve as a bridge for our graduates to thrive in the international industrial arena,” said Prof. Kemas.
Through this collaboration, FTUI reaffirms its commitment to expanding its global network and creating real opportunities for its students, in line with its vision to produce excellent and impactful graduates.
