FTUI Expands Educational Collaboration with Tokyo University of Agriculture & Technology (TUAT)

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia welcomed a delegation from the Tokyo University of Agriculture & Technology (TUAT) at the Professor Council Room, FTUI Dean’s Office Building on Tuesday (13/02). This visit was conducted to explore educational and research collaborations.

In her address, Fadhilah Muslim S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC., Secretary of the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, stated, “Currently, 11 TUAT students are undergoing their second short course program in collaboration with the FTUI Department of Chemistry. We hope that the collaboration between FTUI and TUAT continues to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions, especially as FTUI is expanding its educational cooperation in the International Class program, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Therefore, we hope TUAT can become our partner in future academic exchange programs.”

“We are very interested in the collaboration offer from FTUI. Before proceeding to the next stage, we will discuss and finalize arrangements and payments for this fee-paying study abroad program. We hope this collaboration will enhance the quality of education and research for both institutions,” expressed Yukiko Horikiri, Ph.D., International Coordinator at TUAT.

TUAT also provided information about scholarship opportunities through the Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) for FTUI students interested in participating in a double degree exchange program. Additionally, TUAT only accepts students for the international exchange program for the fall semester.

In a separate statement, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., said, “This collaboration will be a gateway to advancing the quality of education and research in the academic environment. International collaboration provides students with the opportunity to develop themselves and experience diverse education systems. It creates competent and globally competitive alumni, especially amid a turbulent and uncertain world.”

As delegates from Tokyo University of Agriculture & Technology (TUAT), Prof. Masafumi Yohda (Institute of Engineering TUAT), Prof. Umebayashi Kenta (Institute of Global Innovation Research TUAT), and Yukiko Horikiri, Ph.D. (International Coordinator TUAT) were present.

The TUAT delegation was received by Fadhilah Muslim S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC (Secretary of the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit), and Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., (Head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit and Head of the Reverse Engineering Center).
