The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), welcomed a delegation from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) at the Dean’s Office, FTUI Building (04/18). This meeting was held to discuss opportunities for educational and research collaboration, as well as to introduce TUM scholarships for master’s programs.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs at FTUI, welcomed the potential collaboration with TUM. “Currently, FTUI only has one dual degree partner from Germany. We are very open to the possibility of TUM becoming our new partner. We hope that this collaboration will benefit both parties and provide new opportunities for students and researchers to collaborate on innovative projects and research together.”
“We are very grateful that FTUI has warmly welcomed us. We hope that today marks the beginning of a closer collaboration between our institutions in the fields of education and research,” said Dr.-Ing. Ali Bawono, PMP., representing TUM.
TUM itself is one of the leading research universities in Europe, where several Nobel laureates have conducted research. TUM has various campus locations: Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan, Straubing, Heilbronn, and a campus in Singapore – TUM Asia. With 15 faculties, 6 integrative research centers, 33,960 students, and 837 teaching staff.
One of the main topics of discussion in the meeting was the collaboration opportunities for dual degree master’s programs between FTUI and TUM. In addition, TUM also offers the TUM Asia-DAAD MSc Scholarship and the DAAD Scholarship. The TUM Asia-DAAD MSc Scholarship provides a scholarship value of EUR 33,000 for 2 years. As for the DAAD Scholarship, TUM offers scholarship programs (for bachelor’s degrees) in the form of Study Visits and Industry Visits for Indonesian students, participating in programs for about 12 days.
