FTUI once again held a Halal Bi Halal event as a forum for gathering the FTUI academic community on Monday (09/05). This Halal Bi Halal routine is always held by FTUI every year on the first day after the Eid holiday. This activity had been stopped for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, with the loosening of the PPKM rules and levels of Depok City, the 2022 HBH FTUI once again were held in a hybrid manner.
Present in person at the Smart Meeting Room Makara 04, Entrepreneur Dean Management, SAF Chair and Secretary, DGB Chair and Secretary, Department Chairs and Secretaries, UKK Heads, ILUNI FTUI and BEM FTUI. The HBH FTUI 2022 activity is a forum for friendship and symbolic of the return of activities after one month of Ramadan worship.
In his speech, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng. IPU conveyed the parable of the metamorphosis of caterpillars and snakes as the transformation process of FTUI. “There is a metaphor of 2 animals, a caterpillar and a snake. Assume that Ramadan is a process, these caterpillars and snakes also fast just like us. The caterpillar fast, it becomes a cocoon. Then after going through the fasting process, the caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly and the butterfly’s life cycle begins. It pollinates the flower, then the flower bears fruit, and so on. There are so many multiplying effects from the butterfly transformation,” said Prof. Heri.
“Another animal, a snake, also fasts when its skin is too old. After he fasts, the snake sheds its skin so that it becomes new again. The Faculty of Engineering repeat the same cycles every 4 years, elects a new dean, then 4 years proceeds, and elects a new dean again. Hopefully, during our 4 years together, we can also provide a superior transformation that has an impact on an even better Engineering Faculty. Let’s work together to rise up for the country, as this is the thematic of this year’s Anniversary,” continued Prof. Heri.
In addition to remarks from the FTUI Dean, the Head of the FTUI Academic Senate, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D. opened his speech with a holiday poem. “The bird of paradise flew into the clouds, perched for a while on a coconut tree. Sorry and our love to convey, have a happy Eid. As we know, we have experienced an extraordinary disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has caused the domestication of our lives and activities for more than 2 years. We hope that all of this we can take a lesson. For lecturers and lecturers at the engineering faculty, this disruptive situation can be an opportunity for us to innovate and gain new knowledge that we can teach students and can benefit society.”
Representing the Academic Senate, Prof. Kemas appreciates the extraordinary efforts of the FTUI management for the past 3 months. He also hopes that this year’s halal bihalal event will not only strengthen friendship and become an important momentum for the FTUI academic community to return to their nature as lecturers and technicians in carrying out the tri dharma of higher education and how FTUI is prepared to face a new era after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Head of the FTUI Professor Board, Prof. Ir. Yulianto Sulistyo Nugroho, M.Sc., Ph.D. conveyed some information in his speech, “I would like to present several reports that may have only been known to the board of professors. As a representative of the UI Engineering Faculty Board of Professors, we would like to report that currently within the UI Engineering Faculty, we have 71 permanent and active professors from all departments. During 2022, we have processed 6 documents for FTUI professor candidates. Alhamdulillah, the last 4 professors we met can be processed to the next stage.”
The FTUI HBH event was attended by 244 participants virtually via Zom. The event was closed by showing a video congratulating Eid Al-Fitr from government partners, domestic and foreign partners, UI leaders and deans of faculties within UI, alumni, departments, students and many more.
