FTUI Holds Innovation Works Licensing Meeting: Focus on Patent Management and Industry Collaboration

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), held an Innovation Works (IW) Licensing Meeting at the Senate Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building (11/03). Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Entrepreneurship at FTUI, led the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Eng. Radon Dhelika, Sugeng Supriadi, S.T., MS.Eng, PhD, and Prof. Dr Ir. Adi Surjosatyo, M.Eng.

During this meeting, participants discussed licensing strategies, patent management, and the registered industrial designs by FTUI innovators. Key topics covered included the evaluation and progress of patents from DTS, DTM, DTE, DTMM, DArsi, and DTK for 2023 and 2024, commercialization strategies to ensure FTUI innovations have broad benefits and economic value, potential collaborations with industries for the utilization of technologies developed by FTUI, intellectual property rights management to support sustainable innovation within the academic environment.

This meeting is a crucial step in ensuring that FTUI’s research and innovations can be implemented and have a widespread impact on society. A well-established licensing system is expected to enable innovations to be utilized by industries and the public while benefiting both innovators and the institution.

Dr. Muhamad Sahlan emphasized that, “IW licensing is not merely about copyright protection, but also a bridge for innovation to grow and be applied in the industrial world. Therefore, synergy between academia, industry, and the government is essential to advancing FTUI’s innovation ecosystem.”

Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FTUI, stated, “We believe that with proper intellectual property management, innovations can be more easily applied and create tangible impacts while also driving technological advancements for the greater good.”

FTUI reaffirms its commitment to supporting researchers and innovators in developing and managing intellectual property optimally through this meeting.
