FTUI Holds Opening Meeting for External Audit of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001

On Monday (14/10), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), conducted the Opening Meeting for the External Audit of its Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015), held in the Smart Meeting Room (SMR) at the FTUI Dean’s Building.

The scope of this external audit includes supervision and recertification of the Quality Management System across 7 departments and 2 units within FTUI, as well as the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Management Systems in 7 departmental laboratories and the i-Cell Building. This three-day external audit, running from October 14–16, 2024, involves a series of activities by the auditors, including observations, interviews, reporting, report writing, and submission of the audit report. The audit results are expected to serve as a foundation for improvements and enhancement of the existing management systems.

In his remarks, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, stated, “This is a routine annual audit, conducted as a Surveillance & Recertification Audit, meaning the audit scope remains unchanged from the previous year. This demonstrates our commitment to continually improving and maintaining the quality of our quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems within FTUI.”

“I hope that through this audit, we can identify any non-conformities and areas for improvement. In doing so, we can continue enhancing our performance and quality of service. May this audit lead FTUI toward better change, both in terms of management and K3L quality,” Prof. Mahmud added.

In a separate interview, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, shared, “This external audit is an important step for FTUI in ensuring that our management systems continue to evolve in line with international standards. With ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, we aim to ensure not only the quality of education but also the well-being and safety of our entire academic community, as well as our commitment to environmental sustainability. This audit reflects our dedication to providing the best for all stakeholders.”

Upon completion of the external audit, FTUI is expected to promptly follow up by implementing improvements based on the audit results. This step is crucial to ensure the effective functioning of quality and K3L management procedures. Through this external audit, FTUI’s management quality is expected to further improve, bringing FTUI closer to its vision of becoming an outstanding and impactful institution.
