FTUI Hosts “Upstream Force: We Are The Energy” – A Collaboration Between Pertamina Hulu Energi and Emtek Digital

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) hosted the event Upstream Force: We Are The Energy, an initiative by Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) in collaboration with Emtek Digital (November 4). This program aims to introduce students to the upstream oil and gas (O&G) sector and foster a positive spirit in supporting national energy security.

The event took place at the Auditorium of the Interdisciplinary Engineering (IDE) Building at FTUI. It was attended by students from various study programs interested in energy issues, technology, and digital communication.

Three speakers from the industry participated in the session:

  • Donny Tigor Silitonga – Upstream Champion, Pertamina Hulu Energi
  • Victoria Wong (Cici Konten) – Founder, Start Your Content Academy
  • Eko Setiawan – Social Media Manager, Kapanlagi Youniverse

During his presentation, Donny Tigor Silitonga emphasized the importance of innovation and the role of young generations in maintaining national energy security, explaining how the upstream O&G sector contributes to Indonesia’s overall energy supply chain.

Victoria Wong shared strategies on personal branding in the digital era and tips for creating inspiring content. Meanwhile, Eko Setiawan discussed how digital media can serve as a creative tool to communicate energy and environmental issues to the public.

As part of the event, the #OOTDEnergi Challenge digital competition was launched, inviting students to upload OOTD photos with the theme “Positive Energy to Spread Goodness” on social media, along with a short opinion about the future of energy. Three selected entries will receive e-wallet prizes.

FTUI’s Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., expressed appreciation for the event. In his statement, he noted:

“FTUI is always open to initiatives that provide opportunities for students to learn directly from industry practitioners. Collaborations like this are essential in preparing young generations to face future energy challenges,” said Prof. Yanuar.

Through this event, FTUI strengthens its role as a bridge between academia and industry, offering students the opportunity to broaden their insights and build professional networks in the energy sector for the future.
