The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), has completed a series of External Audits for its Integrated Management System, covering ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System). The three-day audit was conducted by external auditors from DQS Certification Indonesia and concluded with an evaluation session held at the FTUI Senate Room, Dean’s Building, on October 16.
The audit aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of FTUI’s implementation of its quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems. The results showed that most systems were operating effectively and in accordance with international standards. The audit team also provided several notes, including opportunities for improvement and minor findings that need to be addressed.
The auditors recommended that FTUI develop a corrective action plan within five calendar days and complete its implementation within ninety calendar days. They commended FTUI’s strong commitment to continuous quality improvement and suggested that the mechanism for managing student feedback be standardized further to ensure effective follow-up.
Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at FTUI, expressed his appreciation to all teams involved, “This audit serves as an important moment of reflection for us. Every finding is valuable input for improving our work systems and strengthening our quality culture at FTUI. We are committed to following up on each recommendation with concrete actions,” he stated.
FTUI Dean Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of embedding ISO standards into the faculty’s daily work culture rather than treating them merely as documentation.
“FTUI strives to ensure that the values embodied in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 are truly integrated into the daily activities of our academic community. This includes fostering a culture of quality in academic services, environmental awareness, and a strong sense of occupational health and safety,” Prof. Kemas explained.
Based on the audit results, the audit team will recommend the issuance and continued maintenance of FTUI’s ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications upon the completion of the corrective action plan.
FTUI remains committed to continuously strengthening its management systems and using the audit findings as a foundation for performance improvement across all units. This activity also serves as a momentum to enhance inter-unit collaboration and ensure that every process aligns with the principles of transparency, accountability, and sustainability.
