Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again held its in-person graduation ceremony for the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The event took place over three days at the Balairung Hall, UI Depok Campus, with the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) holding its ceremony on August 12, 2025.
In this period, FTUI graduated a total of 1,655 students across various academic programs. The Regular Undergraduate Program produced 678 graduates, the Parallel Undergraduate Program 202 graduates, and the International Undergraduate Program (KKI) 117 graduates. At the postgraduate level, FTUI conferred degrees to 510 master’s graduates, 32 doctoral graduates, and 116 professional program graduates.
In his speech, UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, expressed deep appreciation to all graduates and their parents. “It is through your parents’ tremendous dedication that today’s graduates have completed their academic journey at this university of perseverance. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to our graduates for their unwavering dedication, tireless hard work, and unyielding spirit in pursuing their dreams. Welcome to the great family of UI alumni—individuals of excellence and impact for Indonesia. You should be proud, as the success rate of admission to UI ranges from only 1–3%. This number proves that you are among Indonesia’s most outstanding individuals—the embodiment of Universitas Indonesia’s quality,” stated the Rector.
Meanwhile, FTUI Dean, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered a special message to the graduates. “Graduation is not the end of your journey, but the beginning of your real contribution to society. We hope that FTUI graduates will become engineers, academics, researchers, and leaders who uphold the values of integrity, innovation, and sustainability in every endeavor. With the competencies and networks built during your time at FTUI, we are confident that you will make meaningful contributions to the nation and rise to the challenges of an increasingly complex global landscape,” emphasized Prof. Kemas.
With the conferment of these degrees, FTUI reaffirms its commitment to nurturing future generations of highly capable, competitive individuals who play an active role in sustainable national development. The presence of 1,655 new FTUI graduates is expected to bring renewed energy to Universitas Indonesia’s mission of producing world-class human resources for Indonesia and beyond.
