FTUI Prepares Students Before Departure to Australia

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, FTUI, the University of Queensland (UQ), and Winik Education guided FTUI International Class students enrolled in double degree and student exchange programs before they depart for Australia to continue their studies at UQ. Two UQ delegates attended the meeting, Dr. Manu P. Sobti and Gladys Yong, and representatives from Winik Education, Mr. Andreas T. Widjaja and Ms. Monica.

The preparation given to the students included essential information such as an introduction to the campus environment. In addition, students could consult directly about administration, life in Australia, and other matters. The students from the Architecture and Chemical Engineering departments will fly to Australia in mid-2024.

“We recommend that you join clubs to expand your network in Australia. Additionally, you will receive seminars on presentation skills and other topics, so you don’t need to worry about your studies at UQ,” said Dr. Manu.

Meanwhile, Gladys said, “For now, just focus on the courses you have yet to complete at UI. We will assist with issues related to visas and other matters. If you encounter any problems at UQ, please let us know so we can help find a solution.”

On a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., stated, “We fully support our students who will continue their studies abroad. We also believe UQ is a great place for our students to grow. This preparation is a manifestation of our support for double degree and exchange students. The hope is that students can understand what needs to be prepared before departing for Australia.”
