The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) in collaboration with PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) held an Executive Sharing & Engine Donation at Makara 04 Smart Meeting Room FTUI (09/05). In this activity, PT ADM presented a seminar with the theme Accelerate Excellent Resources Through Strong Culture Toward Global Manufacturing and donate practical tools.
This activity was attended by the Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.; Cooperation, Venture and Alumni Manager, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto; Head of Academic Quality Assurance Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Winarto, M.Sc; Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Agus Sunjarianto Pamitran, ST., M.Eng; and Secretary of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr.-Ing. Mohammad Adhitya, S.T., M.Sc.
In his remarks, Prof. Mahmud conveyed the importance of work ethics in the world of work, “As we know, work ethics has become one of the highlights in the world of work because it is one of the factors in creating quality manpower so that an industry or company can be said to be successful. That way, it is important for students and graduates who will enter the world of work to learn this.”
Mr. Dikky Burhan as the Corporate Planning & Communication Division Head of PT ADM and Anjar Rosjadi as the R&D Product Planning Division Head of PT ADM presented the presentation. In their presentation, the speakers explained the need for manpower in the manufacturing world, developments in the automotive industry, business processes run by PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, as well as various programs and recruitment available at PT Astra Daihatsu Motor.
“There are five points that form the basis of work ethics at Astra Daihatsu Motor, namely integrity, commitment, accountability, respect and excellent innovation. These values uphold honesty, responsibility, appreciation and consistency in improving and developing the company. If these values are successfully applied, superior human resources with a strong culture will be created,” said Dikky.
Anjar also added the values that a leader must have, “In carrying out its functions, a leader must have honest, positive traits, be able to communicate well, have the will to continue to develop and be curious to continue to make improvements. That way, a leader will be able to set a good example for his team.”
To support student learning activities at FTUI, PT ADM then handed over practical tools in the form of a car assembly machine to the Mechanical Engineering Department of FTUI. This tool is expected to help students learn knowledge related to the world of manufacturing, especially automotive. In addition, PT ADM will hold exclusive internship opportunities for the best graduates at the Universitas Indonesia.
Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU revealed that currently, FTUI is actively increasing cooperation and collaboration in terms of developing research with industrial partners. “The donation of practical tools provided by PT Astra Daihatsu Motor is a concrete manifestation of cooperation between industry and academia to improve the quality of education in engineering. The practical tools provided will be of great benefit to FTUI students in developing their practical skills and technical knowledge. With more modern and complete equipment, students will be able to experience more real and in-depth situations in their learning process.”
By carrying out collaborations between FTUI and industry like this, it is hoped that it can increase motivation for students to continue to grow and develop into FTUI graduates who are superior and globally competitive.
