FTUI Conducts AI Training for Educational Staff to Strengthen Digital Transformation

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), continues to enhance the digital readiness of its academic community by organizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for educational staff. The training was held offline at the FTUI GK Building, conducted in two sessions on August 14, 2025, and attended by a total of 80 FTUI educational staff members.

The training equipped participants with skills in effective prompt writing and exploration of leading AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google Colab, the latter serving as a Python-based programming environment oriented toward AI applications. Through a hands-on approach, participants gained both foundational understanding and practical experience in utilizing AI to support academic administration, learning processes, and research data management. The materials covered topics such as AI-based tools introduction, intelligent data processing, and AI implementation as an academic research assistant capable of accelerating productivity and optimizing educational and research workflows within FTUI.

FTUI Dean Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation “This AI training for educational staff is a tangible form of FTUI’s commitment to making technology not merely an operational tool, but an integral part of the modern work culture within academic institutions. I hope that our staff can transform their work systems through AI-based approaches that are efficient, adaptive, and future-oriented.”

Echoing this, FTUI Human Resources Manager Dr.-Ing. Ir. Ova Candra Dewi, S.T., M.Sc., GP, IPU., added “This AI training is a strategic step to equip FTUI’s educational staff with digital skills relevant to today’s rapid technological developments. By mastering tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google Colab, I am confident that FTUI staff will be increasingly prepared to support modern, efficient, and innovation-driven academic management.”

The month of August has been designated as Educational Staff Month at FTUI. A variety of training sessions aimed at enhancing the competencies of educational staff have been enthusiastically welcomed. Through this initiative, FTUI hopes that every staff member will acquire fundamental AI skills, enabling them to contribute to the faculty’s digital transformation in education services and accelerate academic innovation.
