FTUI Strengthens Cooperation with Foreign Partners Washington University

Washington of University (WashU) paid a visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) to strengthen cooperation in education and research, last Monday (05/06/23). The agenda for this visit was a discussion related to the cooperation field of education. Represented by Vijay K. Ramani, Deputy Chancellor for Postgraduate Education and International Affairs, Washington University and FTUI had an in-depth discussion regarding opportunities to collaborate on the postgraduate program for the Ph.D. program. and Double Degrees.

“We open this educational collaboration with Washington University as wide as possible for opportunities to collaborate with Washington University, in terms of modernizing engineering education. Through this open opportunity for the postgraduate PhD and Double Degree programs, this is the first step in creating graduates who can excel and have global competitiveness,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, M.Eng., IPU.

In the future, the results of this discussion will be followed up with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two parties as well as a more in-depth discussion regarding the articulation of programs that can be carried out as well as matching curricula between existing study programs. It is hoped that in the future, Washington University can become an option for FTUI students to be able to continue their education at world-renowned universities.

In addition to discussions with the faculty leadership, Prof. Vijay K. Ramani will also give a guest lecture for FTUI students in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. This lecture will raise the theme “Utilization of Redox Flow Batteries for Grid-Scale Electrochemical Energy Storage.”

This visit took place in the Academic Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the FTUI Dean’s Building. WashU was represented by Dr. Vijay K.
