FTUI Student Innovation Product “Ktemu” Gives Solutions to Loss Items

Starting from their experience of frequently losing things, three students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) created a tracker product called “Ktemu”. This innovative product is a valuable object tracker based on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology that is integrated and easy to use. With this high level of flexibility, Ktemu is the work of innovative students from the Department of Industrial Engineering (DTI) consisting of Ahmad Nauval Ariq MS, Laily Angelina, and Mutiara Cinta Ekaputri.

“The initial idea for Ktemu’s product was due to our experience of often losing things. Losing things is a common occurrence. When someone loses an item, they usually get confused and even frustrated when they try to find it but can’t find it. This turned out to be assisted and overcome by a product tracker. From here it occurred to us to design a tracker in a way that is easy to use,” said Mutiara the Design and User Experience Specialist for the Ktemu application.

He added that KTemu has several advantages, namely the price is up to 30% cheaper than other products on the market, the detection range of tools is up to a 120-meter radius, eco-friendly production materials, slim and compact products with a diameter of 24mm and 6mm thick, alarm ringtones. , and available with a variety of designs to choose from. Apart from that, Ktemu can also be accessed through applications that can be downloaded on PlayStore and AppStore.

More than that, using Ktemu is also easy to do. First, users can install Ktemu on the item of their choice. Second, open the Ktemu application and select the activation feature. Third, find the location of the item you are looking for with the tracking feature and click on the item you are looking for. Fourth, you can choose other features, namely ringtone lights, notifications, and directions, and mark as many. Users can also turn on Ktemu application notifications to facilitate the search process.

Ahmad Nauval as the Ktemu Application Engineer and Developer Specialist revealed that the production of this application was carried out effectively and efficiently. The process of making this application is divided into production and packaging processes. “For the production process, from a manufacturing perspective, we use several processes, such as photolithography, surface mount, wave soldering, standard mixing, injection moulding, ultrasonic welding, and battery outsourcing, as well as the assembly process of forming electronic components, bodies and batteries which then become Ktemu App.” Meanwhile, he added that for the packaging process, they support the implementation of eco-friendly using ISO 27001 and honeycomb paper.

The Ktemu Application marketing strategy is tailored to the customer journey that reaches the needs of its users, such as providing lots of promos and collaborating with various brands and influencers. “We plan to continue developing this application, such as the addition of built-in camera features, more accurate GPS, fingerprint recognition, wireless chargers, and Ktemu for Ederly,” said Laily Angelina as Ktemu’s Marketing and Business Specialist.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., as the Dean of FTUI, expressed his appreciation for this innovative idea by FTUI students. “Ktemu is a solutive and innovative idea initiated by DTI FTUI students. Finding solutions to overcome the problem of lost goods, is proof of the superior and impactful implementation of FTUI students.”
