FTUI Team Holds Roadshow in Balikpapan to Promote International Undergraduate Program

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), conducted a roadshow at two internationally accredited high schools in Balikpapan on Monday and Tuesday, April 28–29, 2025. FTUI was represented by three delegates: Rifky Raihan from the Public Communication and General Administration Unit and Dyas Latiefah Citraningrum and Ari Susanti from the Partnership and International Education Unit.

The first school visited was SMA Negeri 1 Balikpapan. Rifky and Dyas took turns presenting to 11th and 12th-grade students during this session. They shared information about the International Undergraduate Program (KKI), university life, available study programs at FTUI, scholarship opportunities, and application procedures. The session aimed to help 12th-grade students prepare for their transition to university while encouraging 11th-grade students to start planning early. The session was highly interactive, with students showing great enthusiasm and actively asking questions about FTUI. This engagement reflected a strong interest in higher education, particularly the KKI Program, which offers the opportunity to study in Indonesia and abroad.

The next visit was to IPEKA Christian High School Balikpapan. At this school, Rifky and Dyas once again delivered a comprehensive presentation on the same topics to 10th—and 11th-grade students. The students demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm, which was evident in the lively discussions throughout the session.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his hopes for the initiative, stating, “This roadshow was conducted to ensure that FTUI, especially the International Undergraduate Program, is not only known in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), but also reaches other major cities in Indonesia. We specifically targeted internationally accredited schools to attract students eager to experience studying domestically and abroad.”

Each school visit concluded with a group photo session and the presentation of souvenirs as a token of FTUI’s appreciation to the school.
