The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), continues to demonstrate its commitment to building an excellent, healthy, and globally competitive academic environment. Two strategic initiatives have been undertaken to achieve this goal: conducting the Coordination Meeting and ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Training, and strengthening the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHS-E) Policy.
Through the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, FTUI organized the Coordination Meeting and ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Training at the Smart Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building (21/08). This activity aimed to support the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with international standards.
The training session featured a presentation by Santoso Joko Waluyo, who explained the key principles of ISO 9001:2015, including customer focus, leadership, and continuous improvement. More than 100 participants attended the event, consisting of members of the Quality Management Team, the OHS-E Team, and FTUI’s security representatives—reflecting a shared commitment to implementing ISO 9001:2015 effectively across all levels of FTUI.
Beyond its focus on service quality, FTUI also reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly working and learning environment through the implementation of the OHS-E Policy. The policy includes workplace accident prevention, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement of safety management systems, and risk control measures.
The application of OHS-E also supports the achievement of the Healthy University Rating System (HURS), which encompasses physical and mental health, building and transportation safety, as well as environmental management. Through this effort, FTUI strives to become a center of excellence that not only excels academically but also fosters a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment for all its members. “The implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and the OHS-E Policy reflects FTUI’s strong commitment to maintaining service quality while ensuring a safe and healthy academic environment. With internationally standardized governance, we aim to ensure FTUI’s continued excellence and global competitiveness,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Winarto, M.Sc., Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit at FTUI.
Through the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and the strengthening of OHS-E practices, FTUI reaffirms its dedication to building internationally recognized governance and an academic environment of the highest standard. This initiative aligns with FTUI’s vision of becoming a leading, globally competitive faculty of engineering that contributes meaningfully to national development.
